Children and young people have a right to be safe and protected in any activities that they, their parents and carers choose. Parents and carers have a right to believe that the organisation in which they entrust their children are safe.
Organisations such as yours have a responsibility to safeguard and promote the welfare of children whom you provide a service or activities for. Sometimes you or someone with whom you work may suspect that a child has been abused; if that were the case would you know what to do?
Good safeguarding practice protects not only children but practitioners and volunteers who come into contact with them.
We do hope your visit proves useful and look forward to hearing from you soon.
